Video: Amico – SideSwipers Early Gameplay Demo

Today’s video from Intellivision is for the game SideSwipers, an interesting looking race track game where the goal is to side-swipe your opponent at the various intersections. You can also set traps including a magnet to hold cars in place, a squeezer to stretch cars out, and a wall for your enemies to crash into.

I love seeing Tommy sway while he’s repeating “speed up, slow down.”

The Amico goes on VIP pre-order on March 31. Pre-order comes with a console, two controllers, and six pack-in games as well as $25 store credit, 25% off merchandise coupon code, a signed trading card, and three digital soundtracks.

Intellivision Unveils Five Pack-In Games

Intellivision today announced the five pack-in games coming with the Intellivision Amico system when it launches later this October. The titles were previously confirmed as coming to the console and include Skiing, Shark Shark, Astrosmash, Cornhole, and Farkle.

Skiing was originally sold in 1980 by Mattel under the Sears private-label version of the Intellivision. Shark Shark originally came out in 1982 also by Mattel and has spawned numerous similar titles. Astrosmash is a 1981 title (also Mattel) that became one of Intellivision’s top sellers.

Of the pack-in titles announced, Cornhole and Farkle are not originally Intellivision games.

Introducing Amico Vision

Welcome to Amico Vision, the first and only website dedicated to the upcoming Intellivision Amico.

For those who don’t know, the Intellivision Amico is an upcoming console being produced by Intellivision (obviously) headed by frontman Tommy Tallarico. The console itself is launching on October 10, 2020 and aims to serve a side of the market that has mostly ignored traditional consoles and PCs in favor of mobile devices.

Intellivision also wants to bring back the family gaming nights and couch co-op that it feels has been lost in modern console/mobile gaming.

  • Mostly 2D/2.5D games.
  • Must have features exclusive to the console.
  • Must be rated E or E10+ by the ESRB

The console itself comes with two controllers stylized after the original Intellivision controllers, utilizing touch screens, shoulder buttons, and a 64-way directional disc. Up to eight controllers can be connected as well as smartphones via a free app in place of the controller.

This website will keep up to date on Tommy’s many interviews, as well as news related to the Amico as it closes in on launch and reviews/editorials about the system and its games.
